REMARKS & CONCLUSIONS

The origin is given following three essential criterions, which are :

    The limestone areas.

We find the Rhône - Alpes & Roussillon - Midi - Pyrénées areas.

That suits the most active cavers, they usually visit the pot hole once for their culture
(and their pleasure naturally !).

    The city zones.

Mainly Paris and the Ile de France area are to be found.

Not coming from limestone areas, a huge number of cavers like visiting beautiful caves, "the classic ones". They generally visit the pot hole several times, for pleasure.

Their visits are during long weekends or the school holiday periods.

    The neighbouring zones.

In this case, we find that the motorways are probably the reason why the people can come and visit the pot hole easily.

These cavers regularly visit the pot hole, because of the proximity.

Their visits are spread all the year round.

It's important to note that this classification is not restrictive, and some people often hold the three criterions.

In protection matter, the farther cavers paradoxically seem to be the most sensitive.
